Fiction

Transformers/G.I. Joe

Alpine was part of a group of Joes being trained by Spirit in Oregon when a mysterious vessel crashed in the vicinity. Joining up with another team sent to investigate, they found Cobra goons attempting to steal away with whatever had crashed and tried to stop them. Alpine fired a grappling hook at the helicopter carrying the load, which accomplished nothing but getting him pulled into the air alongside it. He was saved when Bazooka blew the helicopter to bits, but didn't much appreciate it since he almost got blown up with it. Targets of Opportunity

Alpine was part of a strike team that stormed Springfield, a Cobra base disguised as a quaint little town. There, he helped rescue Gung-Ho, who had been overpowered by the twins Tomax and Xamot. On his next mission, Alpine was deployed to the planet Cybertron, its inhabitants having proved themselves to be hostile towards the human race. I Saw Three Ships

The Joes began their attack on Cybertron by sending down "green bombs" from the air. Unfortunately, when they attempted to bomb the mobile city of Trypticon, they discovered it to be protected by a forcefield, and their strike provoked a counter-attack from the Decepticons. Though the G.I. Joes' ships were taken down by Devastator, Alpine managed to make it back to Green Zone 0-8-6, the Joes' temporary base on the alien world. When Wheeljack stumbled upon the Joes' camp in the middle of the night, Alpine helped secure their first P.O.W. Targetmasters

Alpine then assisted his fellow Joes in vivisecting the Cybertronian, believing the giant to be little more than an unfeeling machine. The operation was tabled just in time for Wheeljack's friends to burst in on the scene and launch an offensive against the Joes. The humans returned fire, until blasts from both sides rendered all combatants unconscious. Funeral for a Friend The Joes and the Autobots eventually forged an alliance against the Decepticons, who had similarly aligned themselves with Cobra. When their enemies attacked Metroplex, the new home base for the Joes and their mechanical associates, Alpine joined an infiltration team tasked with entering Fortress Maximus to rescue the captured members of U.S.7. When Alpine, Gung-Ho, Mutt, Dusty and Spearhead finally came upon the animal soldiers, they acted feral towards them due to Blackarachnia's influence. Once she was defeated, they returned to normal though. Alpine and his newly expanded team then made their way to Fortress Maximus's head module as the titan tangled with the Decepticons' own living city, Trypticon. Maximus's head detached itself, transformed into the smaller robot Cerebros, and allowed the troops within it to storm Megatron's throne room within Trypticon. However, the leader of the Decepticons was ready for them, and Alpine was captured as a P.O.W. Everybody Hates Metroplex
