Koh-Buru-Lah lay dormant at the bottom of a frigid precipice in a remote land, forgotten to the world. Cobra Commander summoned up the god and its monstrous brood of snake-men into the world after learning that his organization had sullied itself by joining forces with living machines in his absence. The terrorist leader then led Koh-Buru-Lah to New York City, where G.I. Joe and the Serpentress-led splinter-faction of Decepticobra were fighting Optimus Prime and each other.
