Locator log

The locator log is a piece of technology from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

The locator log of the Exodus contains tracking codes to each and every member of its Mini-Con crew. It appears as a luminescent green hexagonal disc somewhat resembling a Mini-Con storage panel.

For some reason, it explodes from heavy vibrations.

Optimus Prime sent Rad, Carlos, Alexis and the Street Action Team to retrieve the locator log from the wrecked ship before the Decepticons could use it to find all Mini-Cons on Earth. They found it at the same time as Demolishor, who easily defeated the three Mini-Cons. Grindor urged Rad to destroy the locator log, but the human had a better idea and ran off with the log, taunting Demolishor into following. Rad hid it in an unstable part of the cave, and when Demolishor came after him, the vibrations from his heavy battle tank mode caused the locator log to explode and cause a cave-in.

In the aftermath, Optimus Prime thought that maybe the destruction of the log was for the best: they no longer had to worry about the Decepticons getting their hands on it, and the missing Mini-Cons would show up when they felt like it without the Autobots having to track them down. Deep Trouble!
