During the Scavengers' visit to Constancy, Misfire was captured by the Council and put on death row, forcing Fulcrum to rescue him. Chased by Council soldiers, the two traveled to the rendezvous point where the Weak Anthropic Principle was supposed to pick them up, but their rescuers were delayed on account of being slowly killed by the universal killswitch.
