Slingshot is an Autobot. He also possesses the ability to combine with four other Aerialbots to form Superion.

Slingshot participated in the initial attack on the Nemesis along with his Aerialbot buddies, Silverbolt, Air Raid, Fireflight, and Skydive. They combined into Superion and proceeded to wreck the place. They disengaged when Megatron arrived.
