Primeval Dawn is a comic-format story published by 3H Productions. It is set on prehistoric Earth, shortly after the events of the Beast Wars cartoon.

Primeval Dawn:

Overview

Primeval Dawn was a backup story published as part of the Universe comics, behind the main Wreckers story. A small portion of the story also appeared as a Flash-animated cartoon on the BotCon.com site, essentially retelling portions of Part 1 and Part 2.

Like The Wreckers, it was never completed as originally intended by 3H; unlike The Wreckers, it remains unfinished, with the fourth and final part of the story never completed.

The story is set in the aftermath of the Beast Wars on prehistoric Earth; Tarantulas is still alive, having captured the power of the Vok, and has built himself a small squadron of troops. The Vok themselves restore Tigatron and Airazor to life, and create Primal Prime from various remnants of the Beast Wars. The two sides battle for control of the Matrix, which Tarantulas intends to present to his dark master.

Artist Dan Khanna posted a quick summary of the (largely unscripted) end to "Primeval Dawn" in the Allspark message board in 2007: unsurprisingly, Primal Prime would defeat Tarantulas and then take various characters (including Waspinator) to future Cybertron.[1] The only thing close to a wrapup in canon material was "Sideways" in Ask Vector Prime claiming that he drove off Ravage and combined a dying Tigatron and Airazor back into one entity so he could play "the long con" on Primal Prime. Ask Sideways, 6/6/2015 Seriously, that's the best you'll get. "War Against the Destructons" would dream about getting an off-hand, unreliable mention on Facebook.

Creative Team

Primeval Dawn's script was begun by Bob Forward, and continued by Simon Furman; the story was illustrated by Dan Khanna and Makoto Ono.
