Timelines
"Doctor B" discovered that his entire universe was in danger of being overwritten by another universe. Using the Dimensional Interfacer machine he had invented, he sent six cyborg warriors—four Guardians, two Renegades—to the offending 22nd Level to investigate, but they ended up being waylaid in Nexus 208.0 Epsilon instead. Ask Vector Prime
In Gargent 087.0 Kappa, Dr. Braxis devised the fail-safe self-destruct sequences of the Renegades' bases on the planet Moebius. Unfortunately, this was exploited by extradimensional Spy Changer Hoist to remotely destroy all the bases. Ask Vector Prime, 30/9/2015
Renegade Rhetoric
In a different reality, Braxis was a reliable ally to the Renegades; brilliant but unpredictable. He helped develop some of Cy-Kill's weapon systems, including developing a nova beam capable of destroying a sun. Eventually he proved too unstable to remain with the Renegades, but too brilliant to let leave. He removed the dilemma from Cy-Kill's hands by stealing a shuttle and making his exit from the war. But, naturally, they hadn't seen the last of Zebediah Braxis... Ask Vector Prime: Renegade Rhetoric, 20/10/2015 He would menace the Guardians and Renegades time and again, turning two of Scooter's holograms real, pretending to become good, and eventually becoming the head of state of Brasnya. Notes

- Doctor Zebediah Braxis was a human scientist from the Challenge of the GoBots. In that show, Braxis plays largely the same role for the Renegades that Doctor Arkeville plays for the Decepticons in the Generation 1 cartoon. The main difference is that while Arkeville appeared only in the three "The Ultimate Doom" episodes and "Countdown to Extinction", Braxis was a recurring character throughout the series. Whenever Cy-Kill needed scientific expertise, he often turned to the human. Depending on Cy-Kill's mood, Braxis was treated as anything from "marginally better than disposable" to "full-fledged fellow Renegade".
- The dimensional interfacer used in "Withered Hope" made its debut in the two-part "Invasion From The 21st Level" episode.
- The character was only referred to as "Doctor B" in "Withered Hope", and Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II gave the full name of "Thadius Braxis", despite his given name in the original GoBots cartoon being "Zebediah". The ALTernity Today website by the writers of the Almanac notes this error, saying "Thadius" is Braxis's middle name.
- The Complete AllSpark Almanac would later go on to canonize the correction.
- Braxis' development of the nova beam was chronicled, appropriately enough, in the Challenge of the GoBots episode, "Nova Beam".
- His exit from the war via stolen shuttle took place in "Braxis Goes Bonkers."
