The Invasion, Reconnaissance, Occupation, and Neutralization Army, otherwise known as the I.R.O.N. Army, is the elite military force of the Axis-aligned nation Kalistan. They have such a name because their leader, General Garrison "Blitz" Kreiger, has a flair for the dramatic.

During World War II, the I.R.O.N. Army acquired Cybertronian technology. The intelligence apparatus of the Allied Powers suspected this but did not discover the full extent. Meanwhile, the I.R.O.N. Army captured U.S. Army Sergeant Robert Steven Savage and experimented upon him with Cybertronain technology. In the modern day, the I.R.O.N.
