The Headmasters

• Soundblaster (Decepticon, 1987)
  • Japanese ID number: D-101
  • Accessories: Buzzsaw, tape case, rocket launcher, 3 rockets, "concussion blaster"

Dreamwave's "Soundblaster" was repurposed from the original Soundblaster toy, which represented a new incarnation of Soundwave. As part of the Japanese The Headmasters series, Soundwave was redecoed in a new black and red color scheme, and his chest door was retooled so that he could now hold two cassettes at once. Soundblaster came packaged with Buzzsaw, who now sported a new sticker which would reveal the weak spot of Fortress Maximus when placed behind Soundblaster's translucent red chest door, in the same manner that Tech Specs decoders worked. The figure's stickers, however, retain Soundwave's blue coloration instead of being changed to work with Soundblaster's black.

Generations

His alt-mode had a bad run-in with Tatanka.

• Soundwave (Leader, 2016)

Soundblaster is packaged with Soundwave, part of the second wave of Generations Titans Return Leader Class figures. He transforms from a robot resembling Soundwave into Soundwave's head, which is then enclosed by a helmet to bulk it out. He can similarly be used as the head of any other Titans Return Deluxe, Voyager, or Leader Class figure. Soundblaster features ports in his feet that allow him to peg onto various spots on Soundwave's robot, boombox, and base modes, as well as many other Titans Return figures.

Notes

• Soundblaster is named after Soundwave's rebuilt form from The Headmasters.

Notes

• Like other cameo Kreons, Kre-O Soundblaster is made from existing Kre-O. He uses the Soundwave helmet colored black.
• He is an homage to the Music Label Soundwave with the 'Blaster Black' paint scheme (especially since the 'tape door' deco is purple/lavender instead of red).
