The teleport gate was a piece of technology of unknown origins. It could be used to transport matter across unimaginable distances in space-time, and conceivably retrieve anything in the universe.

Beast Wars II cartoon

A mysterious starship crashed on the planet Gaea, prompting the Maximals and Predacons to investigate. They discovered it contained a teleport gate, a mechanism for retrieving beings and objects from anywhere in time and space, providing the proper coordinates were input. After an initial clash, the Predacons drove the Maximals away from the gate, but Lio Junior was able to secure the activation key. However, Galvatron soon approached Junior and manipulated him into turning over the key.

Galvatron intended to summon the great warrior Megatron to Gaea, but Gigastorm messed up the coordinates. It was a happy accident, though, for a legendary force of devastating power known as Majin Zarak arrived instead. Majin Zarak caused the Maximals considerable grief before Lio Junior (as Magnaboss) repowered the teleport gate with his own body. He summoned the legendary Maximal commander Convoy to support Lio Convoy and the others.

Together, Convoy and Lio Convoy combined the power of their Energon Matrixes, becoming Burning Convoy and Flash Lio Convoy. This energy boost gave them the strength necessary to defeat Majin Zarak. Afterwards, Convoy returned to Energoa through the teleport gate, and the Maximals destroyed the device to prevent it from being misused in the future. Lio Convoy in Imminent Danger!
