Optimus Prime is the Autobot leader from the Transformers (2007) continuity family.

Optimus Prime turns into a truck, is quite possibly heroic, might be very powerful, and may believe freedom is the right of all sentient beings.

One thing's for sure, and that is he is a robot. It's also revealed in the Movie Prequel Comic that he co-ruled Cybertron with Megatron, in a way similar to a king.
