In 1989 two members of the X-Men, Phoenix and Cyclops, attended Colin and Steve's Christmas party in the Combat Shed. Cyclops sliced some fruit cake in half using an optical blast while Phoenix teased him about showing off his "party tricks." Christmas with Combat Colin

- The cover of Transformers: The Wreckers Issue #1 was a parody of the cover of Giant-Size X-Men issue #1.
- The outliers in IDW's "Shadowplay" are a pretty obvious homage to the X-Men.
