This article is about the Robots in Disguise Decepticon. For the Beast Wars Neo Predacon, see Crazybolt (BWN).
Crazybolt is a Decepticon from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Don't stalk with your mouth full.

Crazybolt subscribes to a simple philosophy: speed. Everything in life should be about going as fast as you can and nothing should be slowing you down. On Velocitron, this philosophy would allow Crazybolt to fit right in. But on planets such as Cybertron and Earth, there are too many obstacles in the form of cities, natural terrain, and people. And to Crazybolt, there is only one solution to dealing with all obstacles impeding his speed: destroying them with his fiery breath and burning exhaust.

His Mini-Con partner is the ever-loyal Slicedice, who is as dedicated to Crazybolt as his master is to speed. He is also associated with Hammer.

Fiction

2015 Robots in Disguise cartoon

Voice actor: James Arnold Taylor (English), Jin Yamanoi (Japanese), Roberto Accornero (Italian)
If anyone tells me to lick my eyeballs...they're dead!

An ex-drag racer, Crazybolt and Slicedice were arrested after Crazybolt leveled Steel City, claiming that the buildings impeded his mobility. He was placed in a stasis pod and sent away aboard the Alchemor, only to be freed when the ship crashed on Earth. The duo continued their high-octane rampage across Earth's highways, although Bumblebee's team eventually tracked them down. The two fled; Crazybolt used a smokescreen to send Strongarm onto an overpass, distracting her while they made good their escape.

I feel the need...the need for speed!

After some more driving, Crazybolt and Slicedice discovered a nature reserve. Slicedice, offended by the sign, goaded his partner into burning down the sign... and the entire forest, viewing it as an insult to their desire for unimpeded speed. Although Bumblebee and Grimlock grappled with the Decepticons, they were unable to subdue either before the flames forced them to break off. The Decepticon duo took advantage of the fire and fled the scene. Suspended

That's a...spicy meat-a ball!

The pair met up with Scorponok in a disused drive-in, though the other Decepticon was swiftly irritated by their tardiness and their need for speed. They were about to come to blows when Bumblebee and Grimlock attacked. Aiming to end the fight quickly, Crazybolt blasted Bumblebee with flame, but was forced to stop when the Autobot used Slicedice as an impromptu shield. Bumblebee and Grimlock were able to overcome the Decepticons, and as a result Crazybolt and his companion were safely locked away in a stasis pod. Misdirection

Robots in Disguise (2015)

Get in mah belly! (Hasbro Version Pictured)
File:TF-Adventure-TAV-47-Crazybolt.jpg
(TakaraTomy Version Pictured)
  • Crazybolt and Decepticon Hammer (Deployer, 2015)
    • Japanese ID Number: TAV47
    • Accessories: Hammer Mini-con and armor sprue (Hasbro only), Ransack Mini-Con and armor sprue (TakaraTomy only)
Crazybolt transforms from a horned lizard robot beast into some kind of monstrous muscle car. He includes a recolor of Wave 3 Mini-Con Hammer. As a Deployer figure, Crazybolt is designed to launch Cyclone-style Mini-Cons from his huge gaping maw/vehicle rear. This launcher will not work if the small "safety" on his underside is not pushed in, either by setting him on a flat surface in vehicle mode, posing him low enough to the ground in robot mode, or by doing so manually in either mode.
An undocumented feature is the ability to attach Mini-Cons to the rectangular tab on each of Crazybolt's shoulders.
The TakaraTomy version features a different paint scheme which is a little bit more show-accurate (but still off). Instead of Hammer, he includes a version of Ransack which is slightly retooled to have a 5mm peg in place of the rectangular peg hole which all American releases of the mold have.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Crazybolt (クレイジーボルト Kureijīboruto)
  • Crazybolt was a Japanese-original name. If only Hasbro would acknowledge Japanese Transformers series and do stuff based on them a little more!
