Marvel The Transformers comics
Hector Dialonzo was an illegal immigrant from Mexico, with the mutant ability to channel the energies of the Earth: something he viewed as a curse. He spent some time on the move, in a world that pushed him around and viewed him as a freak. When his workplace was attacked by the Air Strike Patrol, he finally decided to stand up and used his powers to destroy the Decepticons. He killed Tailwind, Storm Cloud, and Nightflight before Whisper decided to take several of his coworkers hostage, hoisting a fuel tanker overhead and threatening to drop it on the other humans. Enraged at being threatened with "terror tactics," Hector refused to stay his hand and blasted the Decepticon with lightning... almost killing the other workers in the process. Horrified, Hector ran off and vanished, becoming known as 'Mister X'.
Hector was eventually tracked down, and agreed to sit tight in exchange to amnesty and temporary citizenship if he joined up with a team being brought together by G.B. Blackrock. Circuit Breaker got to his coordinates first however, and let him believe that she was representing Blackrock. Before their conversation went anywhere, Starscream ripped open the bar both superhumans were talking in, intent on using Dialonzo for his own agenda. With Starscream gaining the upper hand, Dialonzo offered to surrender himself in exchange for Starscream sparing Circuit Breaker's life. The negotiations were cut short, as Blackrock then arrived on-scene, accompanied by two other superhumans, Thunderpunch and Rapture. All parties involved began to squabble over "ownership" of Dialonzo, until the annoyed man forced everyone to stop and said he'd go with whoever he chose. All three parties made their pitch; Hector was offered world dominance and being viewed as a hero, but ultimately opted to join forces with G.B. Blackrock, who offered him a place to belong and put his powers to good use. Starscream made a last-ditch effort to take Hector by force, only to be shoved down into the nearby surf by Circuit Breaker and Thunderpunch's conjoined efforts. The humans then left together in Blackrock's helicopter. The Human Factor!
Hector next appeared in costume as a member of the Neo-Knights. Now going by the code-name "Dynamo," he and his fellow super-humans were called into action by the President of the United States himself when a duel between Scorponok and Shockwave threatened the destruction of New York City. ...All This and Civil War 2 Dynamo's powers proved to be effective against Scorponok, though his potency against mechanical adversaries paled in comparison to Circuit-Breaker's. He was quickly relegated to the sidelines while the latter unleashed her fury against the Transformers indiscriminately, ignoring Blackrock's pleas to only attack the bad robots. Circuit-Breaker eventually burned herself out, and Dynamo readied himself to rejoin the fray when Optimus Prime stepped forth and convinced all involved parties to stand down. The Neo-Knights were about to leave aboard Blackrock's helicopter when they were suddenly teleported to Cybertron alongside both the Autobots and Decepticons. Out of Time! On this alien world, the Neo-Knights were privy to the Transformers' creator-god, Primus, filling in his children on the incoming threat of his eternal nemesis, Unicron. But despite talk of looming Armageddon, the humans were more concerned over the mental state of one of their own; Circuit Breaker's pathological hatred of robots caused her mind to shut down when she found herself on a planet entirely populated with them. Blackrock demanded that he and his team be teleported back to Earth, but Primus vanished before the request could be communicated to him. The Void!
True to Primus's warning, Unicron attacked Cybertron shortly thereafter. Dynamo attempted, with limited success, to tap into the power of Cybertron as he did on Earth. On the Edge of Extinction!
After the Autobots and Decepticons abandoned Cybertron, his attunement to the planet led his fellow Neo Knights and the seemingly delusional Hi-Q to the Last Autobot, paving the way for the salvation of the planet. The Last Autobot?
Notes
- Furman and Wildman planned to rework the Knights as Techno-X series; the Transformers would have been just a simulation to train them against real robots. And since they'd run out of ideas for Dynamo, the poor sod was going to be retconned into part of the simulation! Hasbro Transformers Collectors' Club issue 41
