Anode is a Camien Transformer from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

An archeologist, treasure-hunter, and self-proclaimed adventurer, there's no artifact too risky for Anode to retrieve... even if her partner Lug begs to differ.

Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Five hundred years ago, Anode and Lug travelled to Luna 2 at the behest of prospective client Techy. They found themselves on the wrong side of a Decepticon Cybernought; although Anode deployed a forcefield Lug was convinced that they were going to die. They were saved by the intervention of the time travelling Necrobot, who took both of them to the future.

After recuperating from the time-jump experience in a stasis capsule, the duo woke up on the Necroworld, where they attended a debriefing held by Ultra Magnus to help bring the disoriented time-travelers up to speed on recent events. Anode was less than impressed by the Autobot's boring delivery. The two then were accosted by Swerve, who annoyed them with some nonsensical questions under the pretense of conducting "background checks." When she told Swerve to leave, the red Autobot sarcastically mentioned that she should see Velocity for "timesickness" - and Anode was alarmed to hear Velocity's name again. Anode and Lug subsequently attempted to leave the Necroworld via teleporter. Rodimus and Drift caught the duo before they could escape; although she received a reprimand for using the one-use teleporter, Anode was fascinated to see Drift's Great Sword.

When Rodimus and a small group of Transformers decided to use the Teleporter to head back to Cybertron to pick up another ship, Anode stayed behind with the other time-displaced Cybertronians. Some Other Cybertron

Notes

  • Anode's status as a female raises some interesting questions about how she and Lug managed to find Cybertron - the Windblade miniseries seemed to imply that nobody on Caminus knew how to get back to Cybertron or even fly a spaceship, so how did she and Lug manage to get off-world?
  • An anode is a polarized electrical device.
