Sue is a human from the Japanese cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Sue is the daughter of Marissa Faireborn and Dirk Manus. Like her mother, she is a friend of the Autobots.

Sue was present in Hawaii as Optimus Prime, his combiner Autobots, and some of their human friends undertook ~~a surfing vacation~~ special surfing training. Crossing the Pacific Ocean!?

For Father's Day, Sue celebrated with her father, Grimlock, and the Technobots. She gave her dad a box full of chocolate money, oblivious to his disappointment when he learned it wasn't real. Surprise Father's Day Party!!

Sue's identity was originally unclear as she looked like a Kiss Players incarnation of her mother alongside a decades-older version of her mother. Her identity as an original character was confirmed by Hayato Sakamoto at BotCon 2016.
She is likely named after her father's ship and/or her mother's American voice actor.
