The King Waruder is the Waruder leader from the Diaclone continuity family.

Last of the trinity that once ruled the Waruder army, King Waruder leads from the front lines, piloted by Daros. His strength is an order of magnitude greater than any of his loyal troops, and combines with his cunning intellect to make him a superlative force on the battlefield, one that will stop at nothing to sate his race's all-consuming hunger.

Toys

Timelines

  • Waruder Marauders (BotCon 2015)
    • Accessories: stinger/gun
Storm Rider was repurposed as the King Waruder mech.
Storm Rider is a black, blue, gray, and red redeco of the Generations Deluxe Class Waspinator sculpt. He retains the original toy's wing-beating gimmick.
Storm Rider was available in a four-pack at BotCon 2015 that included the three other Waruder mechs (Paralyzer, Parasite, and Mudfighter) as well as the four Waruder troops (Buzzer, Ripper, Thrasher, and Crusher).

Thrasher was repurposed as Daros.
Thrasher is a black and gray redeco of the Generations Waspinator sculpt that originally came with the Legends Class Starscream mold. Thrasher can transform into a wasp, a Waruder pilot with 3mm-compatible hands, and a gun with 5mm handle. He has an autotransformation feature that folds up his wings when his gun barrel is extended.
This mold was also used to make Generations Venin and Movie Advanced Series Buzz Saw, in addition to the Ripper, Buzzer and Crusher toys.

Notes

  • King Waruder's profile establishes him as being (part of) Warudaros, the classic Diaclone toy which Storm Rider's deco is based upon. The former trinity of rulers refers to Warudaros's nature as a combination of three piloted vehicles, whilst King Waruder's solo invasion of Earth recalls Warudaros's initial status as the lone Diaclone villain toy. Per the profile's writer, Daniel Arseneault, the black Thrasher figure is intended to represent Daros (rather than the red Crusher figure associated with Storm Rider), due to more closely matching one of the original Warudaros's pilots.
  • In the original Diaclone story material, the Waruder leader is instead titled Emperor Waruder (帝王ワルダー Teiō Warudā).
  • In case you were wondering, the Waruder face shown in the race's insignia is not that of the Emperor Waruder, but Ingram, a Waruder general.
