In the world of dubbing, Suzuoki played such characters as Ug the Bounty Hunter (Terrence Mann) in the Critters series, Chucky (Brad Dourif) in the first Child's Play film, Riggs (Mel Gibson) in the Tokyo Broadcasting System dubs of the Lethal Weapon series, Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) in the Soft dub of Ghostbusters II, James Bond (Timothy Dalton) in the TV Asahi dub of The Living Daylights, Frodo in Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings film, and he dubbed over Tom Cruise in at least nine films.

On August 6, 2006, at the age of 56, Hirotaka Suzuoki died from lung cancer.

Notes

  • Suzuoki was originally cast to play Galaxy Force Starscream. However, illness forced him to decline the role and he was recast with Takaya Kuroda, who wound up doing a distinct impression of Suzuoki.
  • Many years later after his death, Daisuke Hirakawa, who would go on to voice Starscream in Adventure, would also voice Noriaki Kakyoin in the Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Stardust Crusaders anime.
