600,000 years ago, Shockwave launched thirteen rockets loaded with energon ore, one of which seeded Ore-7 upon an unknown world, where it developed its powers of "change". The Crucible

During his journey through space, Metroplex picked up a sample of Ore-7. When confronted with an army of Ammonites seeking to reclaim the ore, the Titan infused Ore-7 into part of his thumb and jettisoned it into space. The Ammonites tried to kill him using Ore-2, The Becoming infecting Metroplex with an alchemical virus and sending him into hiding beneath the oceans of Hydrophena. Burning Bright

Metroplex's discarded thumb was recovered by the Lost Light. The Reluctant Specialist Eventually he began pulling the lost body part back towards him, knowing the Ore-7 within it would cure him of the disease, The Becoming guiding the Lost Light to Hydrophena Winners & Losers and Metroplex himself. Into the Abyss Connecting with the Lost Light, Metroplex used his Space bridge to transport the ship, himself and his Ore-7-infused thumb to Cybertron. Burning Bright

While Metroplex was locked in battle with the Necrotitan, Megatron used his own integrated Titan tech to teleport the thumb back to Metroplex, allowing the Titan to use Ore-7's power of change to restore himself and reduce the Necrotitan's death plague to a benign state, saving the populace of New Iacon.
