Baron Ironblood (and the Red Shadows) were the evil faction from Action Force, G.I. Joe's British antecedent-slash-counterpart, who were eliminated from the Action Force story and replaced with Cobra when Hasbro acquired the property and folded it into G.I. Joe mythology. In that telling of events, Ironblood actually became Cobra Commander, though that appears unlikely in the IDW continuity
