The International Tokyo Toy Show, typically referred to simply as Tokyo Toy Show (東京おもちゃショー Tōkyō Omocha Shō), is Japan's largest and most important annual trade show for the toy industry. It has been held in Tokyo every year since 1962.

In 1983, Hasbro sent a single representative, possibly from Europe, to the Tokyo Toy Show (R&D Vice President George Dunsay cancelled due to bereavement). We do not know this man's name[1] but this unknown, unsung hero was the man who got Hasbro's first look at Diaclone and Micro Change toys, and thus set the ball rolling for Henry Orenstein to swing CEO Stephen D. Hassenfeld and Dunsay on what became Transformers toys and storyline.

In subsequent years, the event has also offered a number of exclusive figures.
