Igor
| This article is about Megatron's slobbery buddy from Dark of the Moon. For the fictional hunchback from Generation 1, see Frankenstein's assistant. |
- Igor is a Decepticon from the live-action film continuity family.

When your sycophantic right-hand man is actually almost always trying to figure out ways to get rid of you, it's nice to have a backup. Igor is Megatron's. Tiny, twisted, cheerful and probably at least a little miswired, the little wretch wants nothing more from life than to gobble up whatever scraps his leader leaves behind, literally as well as figuratively. Megatron has a vague recollection of the head having used to belong to one of his soldiers, but the possibility doesn't interest him enough for him to invest much thought into it.
Igor is a small drone created from leftover Deception parts by Megatron as a "pet". Igor isn't very bright, since he's such a simple life form. In fact, Megatron only built him to do two things: worship his master and consume enough to survive. As such, all Igor does is grovel at Megatron's feet or wait for the big guy to come home, all while munching on whatever scraps and debris he comes across. It's unknown how much sustenance Igor actually receives from the junk he consumes, but he seems to enjoy it and he's always hungry for more. Ultimately, Igor is too small to be a warrior and too dumb to be a spy, so his only use is as Megatron's pet. That suits Igor just fine, since that's about the extent of his ambitions.

Igor hung around at Megatron's Decepticon refugee camp in Africa, where he was weird and crazy, eating the occasional minerals that Megatron gathered and brought back to him and the hatchlings. He would often be pleased at his master's return from excursions.
He later traveled with Starscream and his master to Washington, D.C., as the latter prepared to launch his invasion with the use of Sentinel Prime and his space bridge Pillars. After Megatron destroyed the statue of Abraham Lincoln seated on the Lincoln Memorial, Igor gnawed happily on its disembodied head. Dark of the Moon

Notes
- The Dark of the Moon novel specifically describes Igor as the decapitated head of another Transformer, and the comic adaptation bears this idea out in its depiction of him as a bouncing head with a trail of wires behind him as if he's been torn off a torso. It's bit less obvious in the finished film itself, though, where Igor has stubby little arms and legs and walks around with the aid of a makeshift cane. Concept art from Josh Nizzi strongly indicates that Igor used to be (a) Long Haul.[1]
- Early in development, Igor was named Undermine.[2]
