G.I. Joe vol. 5

G.I. Joe is a comic book published by IDW Publishing, beginning in December 2016. It is the fifth G.I. Joe series from the company, debuting after nearly a two-year hiatus since the fourth volume, and the first Joe series released after the continuity's integration into the Hasbro Universe, which retroactively established that the entire IDW Joe output had occurred in the same universe as their Transformers books.
Puzzled as to why there's an article for this G.I. Joe comic here on TFWiki? Because believe it or not, Skywarp is now a member of the Joe team! However, this is still a Transformers wiki, not a Joe one, so this doesn't mean our other articles will contain full write-ups of the action in this title. For fully-detailed histories of the G.I. Joe characters and concepts appearing in this series in IDW continuity history, check out our sister wiki, the IDW Hasbro Wiki.
G.I. Joe ends with issue #9 in August, 2017, and leads into the First Strike crossover event. A G.I. Joe: First Strike one-shot is scheduled for September, and following the wrap up of First Strike, new series G.I. Joe: Unmasked will debut in November, which integrates Joe with M.A.S.K.
