Darn that...(Yawns)

Blastwave is a bounty hunter who, despite being unable to talk all that much, is the high-tech weapons base for the Autobots. A 'shoot first, ask questions later' type, he has the weapon expertise to know exactly what equipment it takes to blow a Decepticon into scrap.<ref>Blastwave's HasbroToyShop bio</ref>

Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough, Dinobot.

Blastwave was in pursuit of the rogue Autobot Nightra, who stole his Light Bending Device and bounty hunter ID badge and fled to Earth. Following the fugitive, he encountered Bee's team, who believed that he was the criminal and Nightra was the bounty hunter. He fired upon Nightra, causing her to flee and for Bee's team to retaliate. Blastwave mopped the floor with them-using Grimlock as a weapon no less-and then went back to his ship. He then tracked Strongarm and Bumblebee's signals as they looked for Nightra. He promptly opened a space bridge right next to them, grabbed Nightra, and left. He was placing Nightra in a containment unit when Bee's team came to stop him. Nightra escaped again and Blastwave was thrown in the cell meant for her. In the cell, Bee's team finally realized that Blastwave was an Autobot, who spoke to them with Cybertronian sign language, setting the record straight. He was released and helped save Bee's team from being sucked out into the void of space. A captured Nightra was given to Blastwave by Strongarm as well as his badge and Light Bending Device. Blastwave was pleased. Template:Guilty as Charged

"BLAST THAT...(Yawns even harder)"
  • Blastwave (Deluxe, 2016)
    • Accessories: Double-barreled blaster, sword
Part of the 9th wave of the Warrior Class line, now sporting the "Combiner Force" subline logo, Blastwave transforms from a robot to a double-barreled tank of fictional origin. Blastwave is a heavy retool of the previous year's Deluxe Megatronus, with pretty much all of the figure from the waist up being redesigned, plus new kneepads. The cannon barrels in tank mode are articulated, and can be removed from the figure's back to be used as a hand-held weapon. The figure also has a peg hole on the back of its head meant to "store" the sword in tank mode; but it can also be used in conjunction with the cannons to allow for the figure to be displayed in a more offense-focused configuration.
This mold was also used to make Bludgeon.

Notes

  • Despite being a fairly extensive retool affecting nearly every area of the toy, Blastwave's card art and on-screen character model are blatantly an unchanged Megatronus body with only a new head and chest.
