Steelbane
- Steelbane is a Knight of variable allegiance from The Last Knight portion of the live-action film series continuity family.
Steelbane is one of the mythic Knights of Iacon and a sworn defender of the Staff of Merlin.
Fiction
The Last Knight film
Along with his fellow knights, Steelbane once served as a guardian to Quintessa, but eventually betrayed the sorceress, stole her staff of power and fled to earth. After an apparently long period of hiding, the human Merlin convinced the knights to aid King Arthur and his people in their battle against an invading enemy. Combining with his comrades to form Dreagonstorm, they easily turned the tide of battle in Arthurs favor and soon formed a brotherhood with the human Knights of the round table. After Merlins death, they buried him, and the staff, in an ancient ship beneath the sea and steelbane joined his brothers in an eternal vigil over it.
Centuries later, the ship was discovered by Vivian Wembly, Merlins last descendant and Cade Yeager, who had inherited the Knights talisman, who sought the staff to stop Quintessa, who had recently brought the ruined Cybertron to Earth. After three of their brothers fell defending the staff, Steelbane and the other knights were roused to action. They emerged on the ships hull to attack Optimus Prime, who had been bewitched by Quintessa and slain two of their comrades. They were stopped in executing Prime by Yeager, whose talisman transformed into the sword Excalibur. Recognizing the human as a member of their brotherhood, they backed down and soon rallied behind prime in his mission to save earth and destroy Quintessa.
They made their way to Stonehenge and rode up to Cybertron in the Autobots knight ship, unintentionally unnerving their new allies. Steelbane and the others then combined into Dragonstorm to attack the airborne Decepticons and later bore Optimus into battle against Infernocus. After Quintessa was finally defeated and the earth saved, they remained combined to fly back to Cybertron alongside the Autobots. The Last Knight

- Released as part of the second wave of The Last Knight Deluxe Class figures, Steelbane transforms from a robot clad in medieval armor into a dragon. He is armed with a sword, which can be stored on the figure's back in dragon mode, or on either thigh in robot mode. Due to his transformation scheme, Steelbane's robot mode feet end up sticking out of his tail and his dragon mode neck.
- Unfortunately, Steelbane suffers from loose ball joints, which prevent his dragon mode from staying together. Additionally, the figure's larger wings are molded in a softer plastic, and are prone to being warped straight out of the package.
- He was also retooled into Skullitron.
- Optimus Prime / Steelbane / Bumblebee (Tiny Turbo Changer 3-Pack, 2017)
- The new-mold Tiny Turbo Changer Steelbane is included in a three-pack with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee redecoes, part of the Reveal the Shield exclusive subline. Molded in soft vinyl, Steelbane transforms from a super-deformed robot into a super-deformed mechanical dragon in just a few steps. As part of the subline gimmick, Steelbane's wings feature a red-and-blue pattern with a hidden faction insignia, revealed by using the included transparent red weapon accessories as a filter.

- Despite the instructions labelling him an Autobot, Tiny Turbo Changer Steelbane's hidden insignia are Decepticon ones.
