The International Robotic Operations Network (I.R.O.N.) is a completely ordinary company. Garrison Kreiger, formerly Lieutenant "Blitz" of the U.S. Army, is its founder, and Count "Iron Klaw" van Rani is its majority shareholder, and Tomax Paoli is the CEO. Gee, nothing suspicious or criminal about that. Nothing whatsoever!

In a different universe, the Invasion, Reconnaissance, Occupation, and Neutralization Army, otherwise known as the I.R.O.N. Army, is the elite military force of the Axis-aligned nation Kalistan. They have such a name because their leader, General Garrison "Blitz" Kreiger, has a flair for the dramatic.

TransTech

During World War II, the I.R.O.N. Army acquired Cybertronian technology. The intelligence apparatus of the Allied Powers suspected this but did not discover the full extent. Meanwhile, the I.R.O.N. Army captured U.S. Army Sergeant Robert Steven Savage and experimented upon him with Cybertronian technology. In the modern day, the I.R.O.N. Army's resources were acquired by the Kalistan-affiliated terrorist organization S.K.A.R.. Andromeda - Axiom Nexus News, 2016/05/01

IDW Generation 1 continuity

The International Robotics Operations Network was founded by Garrison Kreiger some time after the 1980s, using ideas gleamed from the Talisman. At least one of their main buildings was based in San Francisco. Strange Visitors In the 21st century, the number two stockholder was one Count van Rani. When Kreiger went missing a few years before 2017, van Rani appointed the former head of Cobra, Tomax Paoli, as interim C.E.O., which was definitely not sinister at all. The Secret of the Mummy's Tomb As it transpired, Paoli, van Rani and Kreiger were actually part of a loose cabal of villainous sorts. Paoli's term as C.E.O. ended when he was left to surrender to a team of heroes looking for Kreiger. Strange Visitors

Notes

  • Due to some funny continuity magic, the IDW continuity contains both the I.R.O.N. Army (led by "General Blitz") and the I.R.O.N. company (led by Garrison Kreiger).
