When the Decepticon invaded Earth, Maki lost her parents. Primeless, Part 1

Years later, she used her position within Onyx to become an information broker for the fugitives Spike Witwicky and Jimmy Pink tipping them off about a Mini-Constructicon. Meeting the two at a Tokyo coffee shop the next day, Maki expressed some skepticism at Spike's claims of Cybertronians influencing Earth's history and development but she nonetheless handed them an access pass so that they could get into an Onyx facility in Wanmu, China where something important was held. As the two men left, Spike reminded Maki that she had his cell number and could call him at any time. Vs.

A year later, Maki was among those interviewed for her opinion on Earth joining the Council of Worlds. She felt it was a stupid idea and an obvious mistake as well as being resigned to whatever consequences would befall humanity as a result. Primeless, Part 1
