The name or term "Kei" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Kei (disambiguation).

Kei Zama (座間慧 Zama Kei) is a Japanese comic artist and metalhead. After discovering Last Stand of the Wreckers, she fell hard for Transformers and started hunting down every Western comic she could, with Geoff Senior and Derek Yaniger being faves and influences for their "powerful and aggressive" styles.[1]

Starting as a regular cover artist for IDW Publishing, she became the regular artist on Optimus Prime in late 2016.

As well as Transformers, she's drawn for her fan-fave 2000 AD: starting with those other war robots, ABC Warriors, for a 2017 Free Comic Book Day special. She was unsure about doing it at the same time as starting her ongoing Optimus Prime gig but John Barber, her co-creator, talked her into it. [2]
