A Galvatron remembered

[edit]

I have removed this from the errors:

  • Optimus Prime mentions Galvatron among the threats the Autobots have overcome. But most who actually encountered Galvatron in the fiction ended up dead, and the few that survived didn't get the chance to learn his name. So how did Prime know it?

As many people fought Galvatron and survived (e.g. the Dinobots) and also it's mentioned that Galvatron is in the Ark's computer in one of the stories in one of the annuals (the one with Scorponok on the front).

Which is all in the UK continuity. (And that's not "Galvatron II" to whom the link goes, though it's not clear which of the many Galvatrons is meant.) I suppose something to the effect that for the US G1 comic continuity this is an error but it isn't for the UK continuity would be the best way to explain this one. Since this issue wasn't released in the UK, I'm not sure it's in the UK continuity, technically speaking. JW 00:35, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Wait, was it? I'm not clear . . . JW 00:37, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Originally no - the UK G2 comic replaced the first three issues with their own two-part blatant advert (and that's even by the standards of most TF fiction) focusing on the toys we had (under their UK names) as Bludgeon launched an attack on Earth to lure Optimus Prime and the Matrix but ran into Megatron, then reprinted issues #4 & #5 of the US comic (and didn't try to paper over the continuity cracks) before folding. Luckily by this time US import comic shops were reasonably widespread so getting the US comic as it came out was not a problem. (Tracking down missed issues on the other hand...)
However the Titan trade paperbacks did come out in the UK and virtually all UK fan timelines I've seen have taken G2 as being in continuity so it could be a subjective statement to say outright that it isn't. Timrollpickering 09:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

It wouldn't be the first time that a U.K. story has been referenced by the U.S. comic - Optimus Prime remembers the battle with Deathbringer in one issue of the U.S. G1 comic. 95.148.10.232 11:49, 2 August 2011 (EDT)

Foldout cover?

[edit]

Does anyone have a good scan of the foldout cover's art? It's barely mentioned in this article and it is certainly notable. I can see where the initial "G1 Megatron" mistake note would come from, as G2 Megatron looks to be firing his "shoulder cannon" in the traditional fusion cannon manner, but I've never been able to track down any official word of its veracity. --Nu-Priest (talk) 13:04, 13 January 2018 (EST)
