Figure Alteration Systems are morphcore-like systems from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

A Transformer's Figure Alteration System is responsible for controlling the transformation between their robot and alternate modes. Presumably such systems utilize transformation cogs and morphcores.

According to Blaster, one of the side effects of Nucleon exposure is that a Transformer's Figure Alteration Systems are converted into Energy Storage Reactors causing the loss of any transformation ability. Issue #300 letters section
