Spike, Elizabeth, and the Pretenders find more than they bargained for upon uncovering the mystery of the mysterious man.

Synopsis

At the Parque Zoologico de Merida, an exhibit host shows a group of children Garry the gorilla. He explains to the group that Garry was taken into the zoo after he had wandered into a camp site in the Virunga Mountains, and though he is a perfectly healthy specimen, Garry suffers from depression. The group moves on, though one boy lingers behind, reaching out to Garry by pressing his hand against the glass. As the boy scurries off, Garry presses his paw against the window as well.

Elsewhere, Spike, Elizabeth, Metalhawk, Crossblades, and Vroom are following their mystery man, who has promised to show the group a spaceship. As they are coming upon it, the man bellows out "SUIT ON!!" and reveals himself to be a Decepticon Pretender! The Decepticon opens fire on Spike and Elizabeth, forcing the Autobots to likewise change into their full-sized Pretender forms to protect them. As he tackles all three Autobots on his own, the Decepticon explains that unlike the other Transformers, he is a native from this universe, who escaped Cybertron's destruction to Earth after an "ultimate weapon" turned on its masters. Earth was a great hiding spot, until the inter-dimensional interlopers brought attention to it by suddenly materializing. The Decepticon explains that he was repairing his star drive when he came upon the signal that led him to the group, but that time has now "run out" and all of his previously constructed plans are of no value. Metalhawk demands to know the name of their opponent. The Decepticon complies and emerges from his Pretender suit, revealing himself to be none other than Megatron!

Elsewhere still, Ramjet waits patiently while a Decepticon signal he has broadcast draws to him the Mayhem Attack Squad: Ruckus, Windsweeper, Bludgeon, Spinister, and Needlenose. Though the new arrivals are on their guard at first, Ramjet assures them he desires to work with them. Ruckus is ready to simply off Ramjet instead of humoring his proposal, until a quick display of Ramjet's powers convince the squad to agree on partnering up. Ramjet then explains that both he and Mayhem have the same goal in mind: the destruction of the universe!

Characters in italic text appear only in flashback.

Quotes

"Now that is a Decepticon. We should have posters made up with his face on them."
