Fastland and Cloudraker solve the mystery of the Spike impostor.

Synopsis

Fastlane and Cloudraker arrive in the Legends World and Waspinator dutifully fills his role of explaining who they are, though Megatron doesn't see what makes them "Clones" until he sees their nigh-identical robot modes. It turns out the two are on the run from the Galactic Peace Alliance for data theft, and when they find themselves confronted by the fake Spike Witwicky and Hound, Fastlane makes a run for it. Knowing he's the one with the data, Spike and Hound pursue and corner him in a dead end, but when he he starts panicking about being trapped, they realize they've been tricked: Fastlane doesn't suffer from claustrophobia, meaning they've actually gone after Cloudraker.

Cloudraker claims the data Fastlane took contains evidence that Spike is a fake, causing an argument to break out between Spike and Hound as the Autobot grows suspicious and demands to know what exactly the Clones are guilty of. While Cloudraker is glad they're being distracted long enough that Fastlane can get away, his hopes are dashed when his reckless brother suddenly returns to rescue him. As they flee using Cloudraker's plane mode, Spike orders Hound to kill them, but this is is the last straw for the Autobot, who knows the real Spike would never be so cold-blooded and refuses the order. This allows Fastlane the opportunity to blast Spike with a sonic beam, destroying his disguise and revealing his true identity to be Old Snake, and though he manages to escape, Hound takes care of the incriminating data and promises to sniff him out wherever he's hiding.

As the Clones celebrate a job well done, Rattrap notes that they're really quite different after all and Tigatron is reminded of "spot the difference" games.
