Kakuryu is based on his Victory counterpart's Pretender shell, though Shattered Glass Kakuryu is a Styracosaurus, rather than the shell's original Triceratops form.
Kakuryu, Doryu and Sludge were never outright named in "Dungeons & Dinobots". However, artist Evan Gauntt would later reveal that the three had been specifically called for in the story's script. ^[1]
