The Transformers: The IDW Collection Volume One, published by IDW Publishing, is the first of a series of hardcovers aiming to reprint the IDW Transformers stories in a "suggested reading order" up through The Transformers: All Hail Megatron and beyond. New cover art (of Megatron) is provided by E. J. Su.
Contents
- Series introduction by Andy Schmidt
- The Transformers: Megatron Origin #1–4
- The Transformers: Spotlight: Blurr
- The Transformers: Spotlight: Cliffjumper
- The Transformers: Spotlight: Shockwave
- The Transformers: Spotlight: Nightbeat
- The Transformers: Spotlight: Hot Rod
- The Transformers: Spotlight: Soundwave
- The Transformers: Infiltration #0–6
Notes
- The placement of Nightbeat's Spotlight issue is odd, as it takes place after Optimus Prime has arrived at (or at least is made aware of) Earth, as he did (and was) at the conclusions of Infiltration and Stormbringer.
- At the same time, Spotlight Blurr and Spotlight Cliffjumper (being the 20th and 23rd Spotlight issues, respectively) are placed immensely early, considering their characters don't enter the story until all the way in All Hail Megatron. However, the argument could be made that these are "chronological" placements given that Spotlight Blurr is a flashback and Spotlight Cliffjumper is entirely vague in it's setting.
- The "Red Label" special edition was released on June 19, 2013. More information is available here.
