Talk:Volcanicus (episode)
From MediaWiki
The point I'm trying to make is that we redirected Matrix of Chaos to Matrix of Conquest well before this episode was released, so we probably caused them to use the Matrix of Conquest model when someone clicked a Matrix of Chaos link and got the Matrix of Conquest page. We note similar occurrences, for example Wheel Blaze's colours on Roadburner's page. Omegatron (talk) 14:39, 8 May 2018 (EDT)
- Wheel Blaze is also a separate character, hence why it's noted. In contrast, the Matrix of Chaos and Matrix of Conquest have always shared a design but been identified under different names. The lone exception is the one that comes with the Rodimus Unicronus toy, which was a redeco of the Matrix of Leadership for cost-saving reasons. Since both links go to the same place anyway, we don't need to make note of the redirect here. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 14:49, 8 May 2018 (EDT)
- No, its absolutely a result of the producers looking up the term and using our article for it. Escargon (talk) 14:59, 8 May 2018 (EDT)
- I think you're exaggerating. Besides, the Matrix of Chaos in the IDW Beast Wars comics used the same design as well, so there is precedent. And the Machinima designs for McGuffins have never been 1-to-1 with the toys before; just look at the Enigma of combination. If there's legit comparisons that can be made like the 3rd party Dinobots, that's one thing, but we're not in a position to make wild presumptions. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:29, 8 May 2018 (EDT)
- Quite frankly, the idea that Machinima intentionally modeled on the Conquest Matrix prescribes more competence to them then they actually have. Escargon (talk) 15:31, 8 May 2018 (EDT)
- You're arguing that because the object looks the same as it always has in previous depictions, including those using the same name, it's somehow wrong because it's not identical to one redecoed toy? Have you ever considered that maybe, just maybe, they chose the traditional design because it's more visually appealing? Like how Prime and Megatron are more closely based on their classic appearances than any of their PWT toys? I'm not about to praise the Machinima cartoons as high art, but you're sure making a lot of presumptions. Stick to verifiable information, not conspiracy theories. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:37, 8 May 2018 (EDT)
