After the Ore-13 crisis had passed, Optimus Prime sent Aileron and the Colonist Soldiers on a mission to Mexico City retrieve a cache of black-market weaponry from the defunct Earth Defense Command. They discovered that an anti-Transformer protest had degenerated into a riot; when Midnight Express was wounded by a protester wielding one of these Transformer-derived guns, Optimus deployed reinforcements from Metrotian above.
