The Transformers: Cyberverse toyline continues the trend set by Robots in Disguise of targeting the young demographic lying between the preschool and preteen audiences.
Announced in time for Toy Fair 2018, Cyberverse brings with it the line-wide "Action Attack" gimmick, with every figure including a unique mechanical function.
The line also reintroduces a full size class system after Robots in Disguise relegated it to two price-points out of a mess of over a dozen others. The One-Step Changers and Warrior Class are brought over, while the Ultra, and Ultimate Classes are revived with different price-points, albeit in a similar fashion to the Generations Cyber Series toyline of bigger figures for lower prices. "Attacker" is a new designation of Legion scale figures in the lowest price range, which feature spring loaded attack gimmicks and official third modes consisting of mid-transformations between the robot and vehicle modes.
This item is currently scheduled for release, but is not yet available at mass retail.
Notes
Like with previous lines, Hasbro used character-specific code names for the toys. This time, the theme was "Seinfeld characters": Optimus Prime was code-named "Peterman", Megatron was code-named "Newman", Bumblebee was code-named "Costanza", Grimlock was code-nammed "Puddy", Starscream was code-named "Bania", Shockwave was code-named "Kramer", and Blurr was code-named "Morty".
Cyberverse toys made their global retail debut at Toyworld stores in Australia on 3 July2018.
