Anticipating that there were plentiful Decepticons out in the galaxy who had not returned to a peacetime Cybertron, Starscream tasked Bludgeon with assembling them into an organized fighting force. In 2018 when Unicron began attacking Cybertronian-affiliated planets, Bludgeon led his newly-formed Vengeance Division into combat against Unicron, supposedly for the goal of killing the planet-destroyer. However, this was a ruse, as it turned out Bludgeon was secretly in league with Unicron. Not only did the Vengeance Divsion's firepower fail to make a dent in Unicron, but Bludgeon subsequently welcomed Unicron's supporters the Maximals aboard. Stranger Eons
