Anticipating that there were plentiful Decepticons out in the galaxy who had not returned to a peacetime Cybertron, Starscream tasked Bludgeon with assembling them into an organized fighting force. When Unicron began attacking Cybertronian-affiliated planets, Bludgeon led his newly-formed Vengeance Division into combat, supposedly with the goal of killing the planet-destroyer. However, this was a ruse, as it turned out Bludgeon was secretly in league with the Chaos-Bringer. Not only did the Vengeance Divsion's firepower fail to make a dent in their opponent, but Bludgeon subsequently welcomed Unicron's supporters, the Maximals, aboard. Stranger Eons
