Lightspeed (Motorvator)

- Lightspeed is an Autobot from the toyline portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Motorvators' scout and messenger, Lightspeed more than lives up to his name. Literally. His groundspeed actually exceeds the speed of light itself! This, combined with a specially equipped Energon figure outfitted with a micro lens photo-recorder, makes him perfect for conducting the team's recon. Astonishing speed is not displayed solely by his vehicle mode, however. In robot mode he is able to move his jousting laserblade so fast, it becomes invisible. These abilities make Lightspeed quite a valuable asset for the Motorvators in clashes with their slow-moving Decepticon rival, Overlord.

Generation 1
- Lightspeed (Motorvator, 1991)
- Accessories: Energon figure, sword
- Lightspeed's is a redeco of the Brainmaster Braver, transforming into a Ferrari F40 sports car. His incredibly simplistic transformation for his size is due to the gimmick in his torso: placing his "Energon figure" into the open chest cavity, then closing the plate, pushes the inner core of the small robot up, forming the larger robot's face. The Energon figure can also "pilot" Lightspeed in car mode.
- Like the other Motorvators, Lightspeed lacks the combiner kibble used by Braver to form Road Caesar (in this case, the shield-gun that forms leg armor), but can still be combined with the other two to form an incomplete Motorvator combiner.
- Lightspeed was released in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand in 1991, and was also released in European packaging in Japan, much like the later USA Editions.
