Tobio and the Shinobi Team retrieve the yellow legendisc from Sasuke Sarutobi and finally manage to bring it back to the present. Unfortunately, the revived Dragotron has other plans for the disc...

Synopsis

Budora and Bakudora contemplate Dragotron's slumbering form, wondering if their leader will ever revive, though Budora would be happy if that never happened, since it would mean he'd get Earth for himself. At that moment Dragotron stirs, unleashing arcs of power on the two Predacons. As Dragotron's power surges into them, there's an explosion and they find themselves outside, Dragotron standing over them to announce that he would destroy the Swordbots. Elsewhere, Optimus Prime detects Dragotron's awakening.

Tobio Fūma and the Swordbot Shinobi Team discuss what they've learned about the legendiscs — they each include safeties which will cause the legendisc to time slip if it detects hostile thoughts. Tobio reasons that if they don't fight the Predacons next time they find a disc, they'll be able to retain it, and though the Swordbots are aghast at the idea of fleeing from the enemy, they see his logic. Tobio's legendisc glows, and once the team rushes to the location it has indicated, they experience another time shift.

Tobio has barely gotten his bearings when they spot an old man being chased by bandits. Announcing that to not intervene would being shame to his ancestor Kotaro Fūma, Tobio jumps into action, though as soon as the Swordbots put in an appearance, the bandits flee in terror. The old man notes he sees the resemblance between Kotaro and Tobio. He reveals that he possesses the legendisc Tobio is after, and has been looking for someone worthy of it. After gratefully accepting the disc, Tobio asks who the old man is, and he reveals himself to be Sasuke Sarutobi before disappearing in a pillar of leaves. Tobio barely has time to remark that Sarutobi is famous, and to wonder where the Predacons are, when the disc flashes and everyone is returned to the present.

Their wonderings about the whereabouts of the Predacons are answered when Budora and Bakudora arrive to take the disc off them. Using the power of Dragotron, the two Predacons grow to enormous size. Meanwhile, a blazing dragon comes streaking down into Earth's atmosphere. The Swordbots, initially flattened by the two Predacons, combine into GoHishou and unleash a whirlwind attack. Then they switch to GoSensui configuration and blast the Predacons off their feet with a torrent of water. Finally they switch to GoGekisou and unleash a finishing move that returns the two Predacons to their usual size. As the Autobot combiner moves in to finish them off, a column of fire appears, heralding the arrival of Dragotron. The Predacon leader zaps the Autobots repeatedly and Tobio laments that they're going to lose, until suddenly a blazing dragon streaks out of the sky and headbutts Dragotron right in the face. The energy vanishes from the dragon, revealing Optimus Exprime, Optimus's new form. Optimus dramatically announces that Dragotron's villainy ends here!

Notes

Real-world references

  • True to form for the series, Sasuke Sarutobi is (potentially) a real historical figure.

Trivia

  • "Enter! The New Warrior!" shares much of its plot with the second-to-last episode of the "Samurai Volume", "Depart! Optimus Exprime!", notably the scene in the Autobot base is almost identical. This continues with the final episodes of the respective volumes being almost completely identical.
