Optimus Prime, believing himself inside a video game, snooped around the computer memory of the genetic lab that the Decepticons stole. When he was detected by a seek-and-destroy protection program, Optimus escaped through a tunnel leading back to Alternate Reality, Inc.'s computer systems. The tunnel itself was armored with a protection program by Ethan Zachary.

Optimus Prime infiltrated the genetic lab's computer system a second time. Scorponok, unable to resist the opportunity, downloaded his mind into the computer system. There, he found Optimus Prime and fired on him. Fortunately for Optimus, he was safeguarded by a protection program and he viciously counterattacked, forcing Scorponok to leave the dataspace.
