Talk:Ripclaw
From MediaWiki
The official advertising copy on Hasbro toys hop calls Ripclaw a "He". Given the lack of any other info is that discrepancy worth noting? --ZacWilliam1 13:47, 8 February 2013 (EST)
My communication with Hasbro Customer Service affirmed that Ripclaw (Kre-O) is based on Ripclaw (Prime), so I have to assume the single pronoun on the Hasbrotoyshop page is an error (or else the customer service rep was badly misinformed). Ayellowbirds (talk) 19:42, 17 December 2013 (EST)
- "Being based on a character" isn't always the same things as "being that character". That's pretty much what a homage is. --Sabrblade (talk) 19:58, 17 December 2013 (EST)
- Yeah, because you're going to homage a toy that's coming out concurrently as part of a mass media franchise push.
- The truth of the matter is that the Kre-O team didn't know Ripclaw was supposed to be female during development of the set, which I learned when I talked to the marketing liaison to the Kre-O design team at Toy Fair 2013; he learned that Ripclaw was female from me. What this means for the actual gender of the Kre-O character and associated Kreon, I'm not sure, since the BH Kre-O sets don't have bios, but my obvious preference is for Kre-O Ripclaw to be female like the Prime version. --Monzo (talk) 21:32, 17 December 2013 (EST)
- Thanks, Monzo. That doesn't exactly make things better, but it does clear up what was going on over there.Ayellowbirds (talk) 15:46, 22 December 2013 (EST)
