Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

After end of the Great War, there were many Decepticons scattered across the galaxy who refused to return to a peacetime Cybertron under Autobot or neutral rule. Their scattered cells formed an impromptu intelligence network, watching and waiting for a call to arms. Starscream, anticipating an inevitable existential threat, tasked Bludgeon with assembling the Decepticon remnants into an organized fighting force. They came with an impressive fleet of warships, including Worldsweepers, War Worlds, Worldburners, and every other type of Decepticon capital ship ever built.

When Unicron began attacking the Cybertronian colonies, Bludgeon led his newly-formed Vengeance Division into combat, pinpointing the elusive planet-eater's location through the DVD's intelligence network. Using a stasis web developed by Bludgeon to keep their foe from escaping, they blasted Unicron with all the world-destroying firepower they possessed...to no effect, as this was a ruse; Bludgeon proving to be secretly in league with the Chaos-Bringer. Not only did the Decepticon Vengeance Division's firepower fail to make a dent in their opponent, but Unicron simply teleported out of the web, and Bludgeon subsequently welcomed Unicron's supporters, the Maximals, aboard his flagship. Stranger Eons

Now allied with Unicron, the Decepticon Vengeance Division accompanied him to Cybertron, its ships and crews both jaggedly mutated into new Maximal-like forms. Cybertron's ragtag defensive fleet moved to engage them, but quickly proved to be no match for the DVD's might. Bludgeon's lead Worldsweeper dueled Carcer and took it to pieces; when Victorion boarded it, seeking to cut off the Division's head, Bludgeon simply summoned Monstructor and had her dismembered. With all resistance annihilated, the DVD stood by as Unicron began ripping Cybertron apart. Our Finest

Once Unicron had destroyed the planet, the DVD quantum jumped to Jupiter where they opened fire on Sanctuary Station, destroying it completely. Road's End
