Waspinator's Tech Spec picture

Waspinator was one of the original Predacons in the Beast Wars series. As his name suggests, his alternate form is that of a large wasp. He is generally considered to be among the most popular characters in the series.

Voice Actor: Scott McNeil

Toy Bio: Like a rattlesnake's tail before an attack, a chilling sound buzzes in the distance as if to forecast approaching danger. Suddenly from the sky the giant wasp appears, revealing its monstrous face and bulging eyes as it streaks down for an aerial attack! The Waspinator launches its secret wing missiles, striking the helpless victims below with the poisonous power of a robotic cyber-sting!

Revised Toy Bio (from 10th Anniversary rerelease): Waspinator not know why he even here! Megatron boss Waspinator around, and all Waspinator ever get for it is blown to pieces! Waspinator sick of being stockpile of parts for Maximal rat-bot's collection! Waspinator has big plans! Big plans that don't concern stupid Beast Wars! From now on, Waspinator is on his own!

"Why universe hate Waspinator?"

Waspinator is known for generally speaking in the third person and making a buzzing noise in place of the letter S.

A large part of Waspinator's popularity stems from his accident-prone history. Specifically the fact that he is savagely beaten, and usually blown apart in almost every single episode of the series. This aspect is often made light of during the series, much to Waspinator's disgust.

Also, in the first season, Waspinator twice appears to be possessed by some of the G1 Transformers. In the episode Possession, the Ghost of Starscream travels through time and takes his body. In another episode, as a result of a concusison, he flies around in a daze, claiming to be the Insecticon Shrapnel.

At the end of the series, tired of being the butt of everyones jokes, Waspinator abandons the Predacons and remains on Earth while all the other surviving Transformers set off for Cybertron. The series ends with his comment "Waspinator happy at last."

Sadly, for Waspinator, the Protohumans he had ruled over grew tired of his presence and forced him to leave the planet and return to Cybertron under his own power. There his spark was removed and used to power the Vehicon general, Thrust.
