Kinda looks like Guy Fieri...

Wankus is the former entertainment name of Wayne C. Lewis (born January 15, 1969), an American radio DJ, voice actor/writer/director and former porn producer. Wankus had a dozen successful broadcast radio years which included hosting his own shows in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Santa Barbara and one nationally syndicated. Post Robots in Disguise, he also hosted a variety of PPV and webcasts, starting with the industry-popular KSEX, that opened the door for his 8 year stint in the adult business. The end result is Robots in Disguise stands out like a Titan's sore thumb in his IMDB profile.

Prowl was his first (and so far only) voice acting role outside of ads. He had no idea of what to do in his first time and made sure to arrive early to see the other actors at work. While he enjoyed the role a lot, he didn't know much about the franchise and has admitted "one of the producers looked at the video as I was recording a line and asked, "that's your brother on screen right?" I had no idea!"[1]

After a radical transformation from GOD, Lewis left the adult biz (which he's stated in interviews was making him depressed and self-destructive[2]), got on fire for Jesus, graduated ministry school and now sings on a Christian Praise and Worship Team at In His Presence Church in Woodland Hills, California. He also began a ministry called "Porn to Pure" which strives to help porn stars and industry workers leave the business, start new careers and walk with Christ. The site was replaced with a "New Site Coming Soon" message in late 2014 (after no updates since 2011) and has since become a dead link.

His post-Wankus day job was selling insurance and volunteering at church.[3] These days he's selling cars at a dealership, supporting the Autobot cause once again.[4]

Notes

  • The name "Wankus" came from a radio co-host's verbal fumble when she tried to call him a "wanker" and mixed in some "doofus" by mistake.[6]
  • He told Transfandom that his favourite episode was "Sideburn's Obsession", due to Prowl's terrible disguises.
  • Before he found Jesus, Wankus was known to crash many a karaoke bar to perform HIS special version of Madonna's "Like A Virgin".
  • His hilarious original comedy album "Alrighty Then" is a crackup, but only a few copies exist.
  • Back in his Prowl days, he was a Little League coach.
