Eukaris is a wild and untamed planet, home to a colony of long-lost Transformers with beast modes. By modern times, Eukaris's population had splintered into four competing tribes, who divided themselves based on the nature of their alternate modes. They consisted of the Scale Walkers, led by Dinobot, the Fur Walkers, led by Cheetor, the Wave Walkers, led by Manta Ray, and the Cloud Walkers, led by Sonar. Although isolated from other Transformer worlds, the tribes of Eukaris never forgot the humiliating discrimination that their ancestors on Cybertron faced, and most maintain a healthy distrust of any vehicle mode Transformers.

The term for things related to Eukaris is Eukarian.

Following the end of the First Cybertronian Civil War, the rise of Nova Prime's toxic doctrine of functionism meant that those Transformers with beast modes faced discrimination from other Cybertronians. While Onyx Prime —in reality, an alter ego assumed by Shockwave—took his innermost retinue of elite Maximals to the distant world of Antilla to further his goals, many Transformers who chose to follow to the Prime travelled into space Unstopped and Unstoppable aboard his Titan, Chela. Approximately seven million years ago, they landed on the jungle world that the first wave of colonists would dub "Eukaris". Timeline in Revolutionaries #1 As they settled the planet, Chela's personal hot spot ignited, giving rise to a new civilization of beast mode Transformers. Windblade vol. 2 #6 While other Transformer civilizations, such as the colonists of Devisiun, aggressively cyberformed their new homes, the Eukarians were content to peacefully coexist with Eukaris's indigenous life-forms. Eukarian legend holds that "Onyx Prime" tasked Chela with a final order: protect the planet from any intruding "standard-formers" by any means necessary. Though Chela eventually went dormant beneath Talon Valley, leaving only his space bridge behind, those same legends held that Chela would one day reawaken to defend Eukaris. Over time, Eukarian society developed into a series of tribes, divided along the lines of their beast modes; Windblade vol. 2 #6 like the other colonies, the inhabitants of Eukaris developed a zealous culture which venerated the Thirteen, and the lineage of the Primes, as deities. Approximately 600,000 years ago, the younger Shockwave seeded Eukaris with samples of Ore-11 as part of his Regenesis project. The First Who Was Named Ceremony

Eukaris remained isolated from the rest of the galaxy until 2014; following the "Dark Cybertron" crisis, the First Titan Metroplex returned to Cybertron and used his long-range sensors to reestablish contact with several colonies, including Eukaris. A Long Way Down Shortly afterwards, Camien Cityspeaker Windblade linked with Metroplex's mind and saw Air Hammer and Injector swimming in a Eukarian ocean. Windblade vol. 1 #4

Some months later, the battling combiners Optimus Maximus and Devastator fell through Metroplex's malfunctioning space bridge, and briefly landed on Eukaris, but quickly fell through Chela's space bridge on to other colony worlds. Star-crossed Eukarian lovers Airazor and Tigatron witnessed the mayhem, and later investigated the enormous footprints the warring giants left behind. All That Remains The duo eventually sought out the advice of Fateweaver Blackarachnia, who gathered representatives from the four tribes for a summit regarding the return of their Cybertronian ancestors. They were joined by Rattrap, a Cybertronian who had sneaked through the space bridge to scout out the planet and persuade the natives to join the growing Council of Worlds.

Shortly afterwards, Starscream and Windblade travelled to the planet for a proper diplomatic summit with the Eukarians. Recognizing her status as a non-Cybertronian, the natives afforded Windblade the chance to argue her case, and convince Eukaris to join Cybertron's new Council of Worlds. Unfortunately, the meeting was cut short when the presence of vehicle mode Transformers on Cybertron reawakened Chela, who burst from the ground and immediately tried to kill the intruding "standard-formers". Windblade tried to reason with Chela using her Cityspeaker skills, but diplomacy quickly broke down and Starscream was forced to kill the Titan.

Though Windblade was devastated by the loss, Blackarachnia realized that Chela's passing had fulfilled one of her prophecies, and was the first step towards changing Eukaris for the better. Blackarachnia thus announced that her world would join the Council after all, and appointed Tigatron and Airazor as delegates, hoping that their independence from Eukaris's competing tribes would make them impartial diplomats. As if a million furries cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced...

The zealous inhabiants soon learned of Optimus Prime: in their eyes, a living god. When Prime put out a call for new Autobot recruits to help keep the peace on Earth, the young Eukarians Gimlet and Bump chose to make the pilgrimage to Earth. Time Will Rust

After delivering devastating kompromat on Starscream to Windblade, Rattrap decided to cut his losses and emigrate to Eukaris. After Starscream publicly confessed his crimes and Windblade had been elected to lead the Council of Worlds however, Rattrap was incarcerated on Cybertron—any asylum must have been short-lived. The Chosen One

Not long afterwards, Eukaris was attacked and consumed by Unicron, killing most of its inhabitants in the process. Our Darkest Unicron #1

Notes

  • Eukaris's name is likely derived from "eukaryote", the group of organisms that includes all multicellular life-forms. Following this etymology, the planet's name is properly pronounced "yoo-KARR-iss".[1]
  • It is never specified how Air Hammer and Injector fit into the planet's tribe system.
  • A generic Eukarian seen in "Choose Me" is drawn to resemble a My Little Pony.
