Syphon is an Autobot from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Syphon was thought dead, but turns out he ain't! He may possess an aquatic alt-mode.

Syphon and Hot Rod fought together in the Forced Flood. At some point, Syphon was listed as MIA, in actuality because Censere the Necrobot used the time case to rescue Syphon from whatever fate awaited him and bring him to the future after the war (because he was listed as "missing" before Censere decided to use the time case...). The rigors of time travel taking its toll on Syphon, he was placed in a coma and disguised as an organic being using holograms in a chamber within the Necroworld. During Team Rodimus's battle with the Decepticon Justice Division, Syphon and his fellow rescuees came to and were greeted by a future unfamiliar to them. Notes

• Lost Light #13 indicates that after Team Rodimus left Necroworld, the "Disappeared" Decepticons banded together and killed all Autobots on the planet. Syphon was presumably among the dead, but this is unconfirmed.
