At breakfast, Sally was dismayed at Charlie disposing of her diving trophies. She asked Charlie to make sure Otis got to karate training safely. That evening, she, Ron and Otis watched ALF while eating dinner. On Charlie's birthday, Sally presented her daughter with a helmet, which she insisted Charlie wear while riding her moped. Hearing a noise from the garage that night, Sally was surprised to find Charlie had been given a Volkswagen by Uncle Hank. The next day, Sally borrowed the Volkswagen to take Conan to the vet, unaware that the car was actually Bumblebee, and Charlie was forced to chase her down and reclaim Bee before his secret was revealed.

Sally and Otis returned home from karate practice to find the house trashed and Charlie claiming it was her fault, which sparked an argument between her and Sally, which ended when Charlie stormed out and went for a drive in Bumblebee. Charlie was later delivered back home by Sector Seven forces led by Agent Burns, who claimed Charlie had stolen a government war machine. Sally banished Charlie to her room, and after Burns left, resumed picking over the devastation with Ron. Otis confessed that Charlie had gone to McKinnon Air Base to rescue Bumblebee, and the family set out in the station wagon to find her. Thanks to a radio report, they were able to join Charlie and Bumblebee who were being pursued by Sector Seven, and with some deft driving on the part of Ron, they succeeded in bringing Sector Seven to a halt, though there was almost a major accident.

Charlie later reunited with them at home, after the Earth had been saved. Bumblebee

Sally Watson's involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, was also chronicled in the novel "Transformers: Bumblebee: The Junior Novel".
