Medix doesnt like surprises but the other recruits decide that it's only because he's never had the right kind of surprise so they set-up a Medix themed rescue mission with disastrous results.
Synopsis
Cody has just graduated at the top of his EMT training class, and Heatwave enlists the recruits to help surprise him with the certificate. Medix, not one for surprises, is quick to question, and understanding him, Heatwave assigns the doc-bot the task of getting Cody, and subsequently turns down Hot Shot's idea of fireworks.
When he brought Cody to Heatwave's office, the room is empty and everyone is gone. Medix, now on alert, heads inside and grabs a fire extinguisher, and when he turns on the lights, everyone pops out behind Heatwave's desk, causing Mdix to spray them with foam in alarm.
As they congradulate Cody, they have an arguement with Medix about his foam attack on the surprise, causing the bot in question to leave for his chores in frustration. The recruits then decide to surprise him with things he likes so he understands surprises, and the first one began with passing him bandages while he organized a shelf. Unfortunately, his shelves are fully stocked, and Wedge's attempt at making room leads to the doc-bot getting buried.
The next one has the others pop out from behind a giant leaf pile, which was meant to be clean up by Medix, and the doc-bot was less than happy with the change to his schedule. He later finds the recruits watching a film featuring the invention of thermometers, getting suspicious due to the past surprises. When they mention a surprise ending, Whirl just flat-out spoiled a part, and Medix finally had enough of the surprises, quickly storming out of the room. They later think of a Medix themed surprise mission, which goes rather quickly downhill.
When they present the facts to Medix, he quickly sets off to the rescue, unknowingly by himself, as the recruits had set it up for his surprise. He quickly finds Tough Luck Chuck, and to his disappointment, he finds himself alone, and sets to the rescue with the recruits in hiding. When he finds Chuck, the surprise ends up with an alarmed Medix accidently tossing him into a geyser, and the other recruits quickly see the surprise went downhill, spilling the beans to their friend as the fake becomes real.
As they search for Chuck, the first and second times, Hoist misses, as does both he and Wedge the third. Whirl and Hot Shot score two more misses, and they soon find Medix's dislike for surprises. They then plug the geysers and leave one open for Chuck, and this time, the rescue is a success, though they had to wait until Hot Shot got down first.
As Medix tries to force the water out of Chuck, the recruits apologize for recent events, and promise to stop with them, but they themselves are promptly surprise when the doc-bot presents the new medical kits, and it all ends well.
